Oxidation happens when free radicals bombard your cells. You have about 100 trillion cells in your body and every day each one of these cells is assaulted by 10,000 free radicals. That damage is called oxidation. Free radicals are just atoms or molecules that have lost an electron. That happens with exposure to UV radiation or lights. Things like fluorescent light bulbs, smoking, computers, cell phones, air travel, cars and many plants, fertilizers and pesticides. Even the water we drink and the air we breathe, those actually contain free radicals.
You can measure an antioxidant’s potential to supply electrons dispersed into a liquid by using an ORP (Oxidation/Reduction Potential) meter. And so what we can measure all these liquids here are the voltage, and these measures in millivolts. So we can either get a positive reading which means some things oxidizing to the body or if we get a negative reading that means something that is anti-oxidant or the potential to reduce oxidation.
Oxidized materials are shown as +above zero, antioxidants are either a low+ or a negative reading. Lower numbers indicate more available electrons. For example, the antioxidant CoQ10 (Coenzyme Q10) has an ORP of +49mV and Wheatgrass juice has an ORP of -120mV. The negative reading of Wheatgrass juice gives it a significantly higher potential for donating electrons and neutralizing free radicals than CoQ10.
If we dip an ORP meter in different types of waters, beverages and sports drinks (including the premium imported brands) and also waters sourced from your domestic RO unit or water filter – all will show readings +above zero. This means, all of these waters are oxidizing or speeding up the ageing process. Kangen Water® of Enagic® is the only one that has the potential to reduce oxidation in the body. Now unless you have been living under a rock for the last decade, especially the recent few years, then you definitely know about antioxidants. You know that Vitamins A, C and E are antioxidants. The pH of any solution is the measure of its hydrogen-ion concentration. pH is the abbreviation for “potential of hydrogen.” The higher the pH reading, the more alkaline and oxygen rich the fluid is. The lower the pH reading, the more acidic and oxygen deprived the fluid is. The pH range is from 0 to 14, with 7.0 being neutral. Anything above 7.0 is alkaline, anything below 7.0 is considered acidic.
Human blood stays in a very narrow pH range right around (7.35 - 7.45). Below or above this range means symptoms and disease. If blood pH moves towards much below 6.8 or above 7.8, cells stop functioning and the patient dies. The ideal pH for blood is 7.4

Water molecules are usually bound together in a random fashion and form large loosely arranged clusters. In order for cells of the human body to absorb ordinary water molecules and become hydrated, the body must expend a lot of energy to break apart the clusters. However, when water is structured, i.e., organized as single individual molecules or as a chain of individual molecules, it can readily slip into the cells of the human body.
Dr. Peter Agre was awarded with a Nobel Prize in 2003 for discovering “Aquaporins.” There are the openings that are only few molecules of water wide in every cell.
