This is the mental faculty that gives you the ability to hold one idea on the screen of your mind to the exclusion of all outside distractions.

Making love, we can remind ourselves to stay present to the body, rather than retreating into fantasy. Taking a walk, we can remind ourselves to look, smell, feel and hear what is around us. We can stop ourselves occasionally throughout the day and simply ask, “Do you know where you are right now, and what you are doing?”

Living in the here and now is a practice, not some concept. It requires our dedicated commitment to learning this practice. Sometimes, living in the now means that we simply savor what is given. At other times, full awareness of the now means that we take dynamic action.

It is about today, it is about now. It is time for you to suspend your disbelief, to believe that anything is possible in your life by embracing change. Be brave and take the leap – what comes next will amaze you.
